The Pittsburgh Steelers came away with an 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11, with kicker Chris Boswell delivering a masterclass performance.
Boswell accounted for all of Pittsburgh’s points, converting six field goals, including a pivotal 50-yarder late in the fourth quarter that solidified the Steelers’ grip on the AFC North.
Reflecting on his standout day, Boswell emphasized his focus on the team’s success rather than personal accolades.
“It’s a good impact. I’m just here to do my job, and we needed six [field goals] today. We didn’t need any last week. As long as we get the dub [win], then who cares about the rest,” said Boswell postgame.
The game also highlighted a rare struggle for Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who missed two field goals, including a 47-yard attempt in the first quarter. When asked about whether the performance marked a symbolic “passing of the torch,” Boswell quickly dismissed the notion.
“No. Not even close. That dude’s [Justin Tucker] a legend. He’s a Hall of Famer. Next thing you know, he’ll go on another 100 field goal streak, and everyone will forget about this, and we’ll move past it,” explained Boswell.
The Steelers’ defense complemented Boswell’s heroics, forcing two turnovers and limiting the Ravens to 16 points. With the win, Pittsburgh improves to 8-2 and remains atop the AFC North standings.
Looking ahead, the Steelers face another divisional challenge against the struggling Cleveland Browns in Week 12, who recently beat the Ravens but have since fallen short. With momentum on their side, Pittsburgh’s defense and special teams will aim to maintain their consistency and continue building toward playoff success.
