The Pittsburgh Steelers officially claimed WR Colton Dowell off waivers from the 49ers and TE Lance Mason off waivers from the Seahawks on Friday, per the NFL Transactions wire.
Pittsburgh also waived TE J.J. Galbreath and WR A.T. Perry in corresponding moves.
Dowell, 27, is a former seventh-round pick by the Titans in the 2023 NFL Draft out of UT Martin. He was entering the third year of a four-year rookie contract when Tennessee cut him during training camp in 2025.
He caught on with the Ravens’ practice squad in October 2025 but was released with an injury settlement after five days. He signed with the 49ers to a futures deal in January but was waived this week.
In 2023, Dowell appeared in 10 games for the Titans and recorded one reception for three yards.
