Steelers Climb in NFL Power Rankings

The Pittsburgh Steelers are riding high after a gritty 18-16 victory over the Baltimore Ravens that solidified their place atop the AFC North standings. The divisional clash showcased Pittsburgh’s ability to excel in high-pressure situations, powered by a defense that overwhelmed Baltimore’s offense.

Nick Herbig set the tone early, forcing a fumble from Derrick Henry on the Ravens’ second play from scrimmage. The turnover marked Henry’s first lost fumble in nearly two years and helped Pittsburgh establish momentum.

Another pivotal takeaway came before halftime when Patrick Queen forced a fumble to keep the Steelers’ defensive intensity alive. Despite these opportunities, the Steelers managed only field goals off the turnovers, leaving questions about the offense’s consistency.

Pittsburgh’s defense dominated throughout, with relentless pressure on Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and strong red-zone coverage. While the offense struggled to convert key opportunities, kicker Chris Boswell carried the load, delivering six field goals and the Steelers' only points. Contributions from George Pickens and Najee Harris provided timely support, but offensive production remains a concern as Pittsburgh enters the latter half of the season.

The Steelers’ victory knocked Baltimore down three spots in the NFL Power Rankings, but Pittsburgh climbed to No. 6. They now turn their attention to a divisional showdown with the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field. Cleveland recently defeated Baltimore at home, proving they are capable of pulling off upsets.

With the AFC’s top seed within reach, Pittsburgh’s ability to maintain defensive dominance and improve offensive efficiency will be critical in the weeks ahead as they push for postseason success and aim to solidify their place among the league’s elite teams.
