Steelers Could Aim for Russell Wilson and Tyler Lockett Reunion in 2025

The two biggest positions of need for the Pittsburgh Steelers just might turn into positions of strength next season.

Pittsburgh has several options at quarterback, either with a veteran in free agency or a newcomer through the draft. It also has options at wideout.

After being linked to so many names via trades over the course of last season, this summer could see the team finally make a move to put someone opposite George Pickens.

And filling both positions could create a reunion of sorts.

The Steelers employed both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson last year and both are free agents. Pittsburgh has said they might welcome back one of the two but not both. If Wilson is that guy, then there could be a wideout waiting in the wings that could be a perfect fit.

On Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks released wideout Tyler Lockett. Lockett has spent the past 10 seasons in Seattle and seven of those were with Wilson.

Over 10 seasons, Lockett piled up 8,594 yards on 661 catches and 61 touchdowns. Numbers that would immediately make him a viable option in Pittsburgh.

As the old adage goes, "The best ability is availability." Lockett has proven his durability, missing just two regular season games over those 10 seasons.
