Steelers DL DeMarvin Leal Leaves Practice
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive linemen DeMarvin Leal left practice early on a cart on Saturday.

Leal started the day participating as part of the teams defense in the seven shots goal line drill. He removed himself from the drill and was on the sideline before walking to the cart and leaving the field.

That’s the same thing that happened to Steelers wide receiver, Deontae Johnson on Friday. After Friday’s practice, head coach Mike Tomlin said that Johnson was dealing with a heat-related issue.

Tomlin also said that Leal dealt with a heat issue on Friday and missed a portion of practice as a result. Leal left at practice, but was later able to return.

Tight end Rodney Williams II was unable to finish practice on Thursday but returned on Friday. Fellow tight end Connor Heyward left the session early on Friday. He and Johnson both practiced on Saturday.

The heat and humidity have been consistent issues at Steelers training camp at Saint Vincent College so far this year. Heat indices have been in the triple digits.
