The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the New York Jets for the second home game of the season on Sunday afternoon. The team is coming off a divisional loss to the Cleveland Browns. While the organization has a 53-man roster, not every player will suit up for game day. The main thing to take note of in terms of the inactives throughout the season has been Mark Robinson and Kendrick Green not getting jerseys. Pittsburgh can dress 48 guys each week (if eight offensive lineman are active), but have just released the names of seven who will not be active for the Week 4 matchup.
Ahkello Witherspoon will miss the Week 4 matchup after he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 3. The cornerback has not been as effective as he was down the stretch last year and his absence today will open up the door for Arthur Maulet to step up in the secondary.
There is no need for much analysis as the remainder of the inactive players listed below haven’t been active for the regular season. Without major any injuries to the 53-man roster in Week 3 (other than Witherspoon), these are the guys who will remain in street clothes for the matchup against the Jets along with Witherspoon. It will take extremely poor play from the players in front of them or a longterm injury to affect their game day status.
