Pittsburgh Steelers legend and Penn State radio analyst Jack Ham was rushed to the hospital this Saturday after suffering a medical emergency.

Ham, who is widely considered one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history, was set to call this Saturday’s game between Penn State and Washington. However, he was transported to the University of Washington Medical Center due to an undisclosed medical problem.

“Penn State Sports Network analyst Jack Ham experienced a medical emergency earlier today and was transported to the University of Washington Medical Center, where he is being treated,” Penn State said in a statement. “We do not have further information at this time.”

It’s unclear if Ham will be forced to miss the rest of Penn State’s 2026 season. He’s been calling games on the radio for his alma mater since 2000.

Prayers pouring in for Jack Ham.

While the football community patiently waits for an update on Ham, countless fans and media members have sent him kind messages on social media.

“Prayers and hoping for the best for Jack. Met him on a couple different occasions in Happy Valley,” one fan said.

“Praying for Jack. He is the nicest pro athlete I ever met,” a second fan commented.

“Prayers from this Ohio State fan,” another person said.

“Hoping for the best. A Steelers legend and an extremely nice man,” Penguins beat writer Josh Yohe wrote.

Ham played for the Steelers from 1971-1982, earning Pro Bowl honors eight times and winning four Super Bowl titles. He was rightfully named to the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.

We’re wishing Ham a full and speedy recovery.
