The Pittsburgh Steelers enacted a significant change to their preparation ahead of Week 7.
The Steelers confirmed that Russell Wilson took first-team reps at practice on Wednesday. The Steelers had previously indicated this would happen at some point, and now that it has it will further amplify questions about who will be the team's starting quarterback in Week 7.
Russell Wilson did indeed take first-team reps today, Dan Moore Jr. says. Mike Tomlin said yesterday Wilson would take first-team reps at some point this week.

While the Steelers are 4-2 with Justin Fields at the helm, the offensive play has not been completely convincing. Coach Mike Tomlin made it clear that he considers Wilson a potential starter and has consistently refused to anoint Fields as QB1 despite the team’s winning record.
Fields has completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 1,106 yards with five touchdowns and just one interception.
Wilson has yet to play this year due to a calf injury he suffered during preseason. He only began getting full practices in last week, which prompted the Steelers to stick with Fields. It certainly sounds like a change is coming for Week 7.
