Steelers move up for blindside blocker in latest mock draft

The Steelers have made it a focus to rebuild their offensive line this offseason and Pro Football Focus has Pittsburgh trading up to land QB Kenny Pickett's future blindside blocker in its latest mock draft.

PFF believes the Steelers will make a trade with the Patriots for pick No. 14 after a run on offensive tackles starts materializing. Pittsburgh then selects Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones who PFF says "is as physically gifted a tackle as exists in this class."

Jones, who is only 21, ranks as PFF's No. 26 overall prospect and the fifth-best offensive lineman on its big board.

It may feel like a reach to some as he's been named the "most underdeveloped in the top group," but the Steelers need a new left tackle and Jones could certainly develop into a franchise player, standing at a massive 6-foot-5, 311 pounds.

"Jones is a bully of an offensive tackle. You're not going through him, you'll have to go around," PFF writes. That's exactly the type of player Pittsburgh needs for its second-year quarterback who suffered two concussions last season.

The Steelers are clearly interested in Jones as well, hosting him on Monday as was one of their last top-30 visits.

If Pittsburgh can land Jones, it would be a win, and with three picks in the top 50, the team surely has the means to go get their guy.
