Pittsburgh Steelers punter Corliss Waitman might be the big winner in the whole Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes.
Word emerged on Thursday that Rodgers would be flying to Pittsburgh to sign with the Steelers in time to participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp next week. Rodgers wore jersey No. 12 throughout his Green Bay Packers career from 2005-2022. Then during his time with the New York Jets from 2023-2024, Rodgers wore jersey No. 8.
Jersey No. 12 was Terry Bradshaw’s with the Steelers, so fans joked about how it would look if Rodgers tried to wear that with the Steelers. It’s more likely that Rodgers continues to wear No. 8 at his next stop. And that’s where Waitman comes in.
Waitman wears No. 8 with the Steelers. If Rodgers wants to wear that number with the Steelers, he might have to buy it from Waitman.

Would Waitman be so kind as to give up that number for nothing? Maybe. Or maybe he just hit the jackpot and can ask for a few thousand bucks to his favorite charity, plus a new tractor or something sweet.
Now’s the time to dream big, Corliss. Let’s see what you can come up with.
