Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision on whether or not he'll join the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the team's current No. 1 signal-caller doesn't have time to worry about the former MVP's next move.
While many insiders believe Rodgers will eventually make it official and join the Steelers, he has yet to give any solid indication about his plans.
That has left veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph as the team's top quarterback at the start of voluntary practices this week.
Speaking to reporters, Rudolph said he is used to uncertainty in the NFL and understands what is and isn't in his control.
“That’s nothing new to me," Rudolph said, via the team's official website. “There’s been constant noise. That is the nature of the NFL. So I am used to that for a long time. Now I’m doing nothing but being the best I can be to help our team get better this spring.”
Rudolph has been in some quarterback controversy in Pittsburgh before, starting in 2019 when he was benched in favor of Duck Hodges.
Though his indecision has caused a bit of a distraction for Rudolph and the Steelers, one former NFL quarterback expects that Rodgers will end the waiting and sign soon.
Matt Hasselbeck said on a recent episode of “ The Herd" that there is no real other option for the former league MVP.
“Aaron Rodgers is going to be with the Pittsburgh Steelers," Hasselbeck said. "All this other talk about all these other teams—it’s not happening.”
