We are a little over 24 hours until the 2024 NFL trade deadline, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are making moves.

No it's not the WR trade that fans anxiously await, but it's a move that rights the wrongs of last week's questionable roster move.

That's because promising swing tackle Dylan Cook is back with Pittsburgh after being released late last week:

Dylan Cook rejoins Steelers via Practice Squad

The Steelers signed offensive tackle Dylan Cook to the practice squad today. Cook was placed on the Reserve/Injured (Designated for Return) List before the start of the regular season, and returned to practice on Oct. 17. He was released on Oct. 31. Cook spent the 2023 season on the 53-man roster, but didn't see any game action.

The release of Cook was surprising to many around the team, as he was Pittsburgh's swing tackle, serving as the sixth man and third-best OT on the roster. He started the season on IR following an injury in the preseason, but he returned to practice a couple of weeks ago and then was released unexpectedly on Halloween.

Cook was one of the standouts in training camp and during the preseason. At only 26 years old, he looked to be a depth piece for years to come. And while he's not on the active roster his return via the practice squad bodes well for his future.

It should be noted that with a day to go until the deadline, the Steelers still have an open roster spot on their 53-man roster. Could it be Mike Williams, Adam Thielen, or someone else?

We'll find out soon enough.
