Despite all the fodder surrounding the other side of the ball, Pittsburgh is really hurting at the LB position.

Earlier in the week, the Steelers moved to correct course when it comes to who's starting alongside Elandon Roberts.

And now they have made another to ensure depth, although it may be his last chance to prove he belongs:

Third Time's A charm

Johnson was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 10. He was also activated for the Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals and Week 14 game against the New England Patriots.

Johnson was drafted by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He played in 16 games last season, mainly on special teams.

Johnson played college football at the University of Kansas where he was an All-Big 12 selection as a senior when he recorded 61 tackles, including 8.5 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks and forced four fumbles, which was third most in the Big-12. He also recovered two fumbles. -Teresa Varley, Steelers

NFL practice squad rules state that players are allowed to be elevated a maximum of three times before they have to be signed to the active roster should a team wish to activate that player on a gameday roster.

So we'll see if Johnson can make the most of the game against the Colts. To be fully transparent, Johnson playing any more than special teasm probably wouldn't be a good thing, but a couple of splash plays on "teams" could ensure his spot going forward.
