The Pittsburgh Steelers continue their roster cuts as they prepare to finalize 53-man team before the start of the regular season. The Steelers announced they have released wide receiver Aron Cruickshank, making him the ninth player Pittsburgh has waived.
Cruickshank arrived in Pittsburgh just days before the team's final preseason game. The former Rutgers standout spent time with the Chicago Bears this summer before ending up on the Steelers. In his lone preseason game in black and gold, he did not catch a pass, but was targeted three times on deep routes.
With Cruickshank's release, the Steelers continue to slim down their wide receiver room. With a tight competition between Gunner Olszewski, Miles Boykin and Dez Fitzpatrick, many are interested to see who, and how many wideouts Pittsburgh keeps around.
The Steelers have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. to finalize their 53-man roster. Currently, they're at 81 players.
