The Pittsburgh Steelers might not know who will be quarterbacking their offseason program, but they do know when it will commence.

As Aaron Rodgers twiddles his thumbs, the Steelers continue to finalize their evaluation of the 2025 NFL Draft class’ crop of quarterbacks, and veteran backup Mason Rudolph hopes they turn down both options, the time to make a final decision under center is quickly approaching.

Somebody will be taking the snaps under center during the team’s offseason programs. But with April’s NFL Draft quickly approaching, the proceeding parts of the offseason aren’t very far away.

The Steelers revealed the dates for their offseason schedule on their official website.

Pittsburgh’s Organized Team Activities (OTAs) are set to begin on May 27 and run through June 5.

The following is the full OTA schedule:
Tuesday, May 27 – OTA No. 1
Wednesday, May 28 – OTA No. 2
Thursday, May 29 – OTA No. 3
Tuesday, June 3 – OTA No. 4
Wednesday, June 4 – OTA No. 5
Thursday, June 5 – OTA No. 6

Steelers Mandatory Minicamp
Tuesday, June 10 – Day 1
Wednesday, June 11 – Day 2
Thursday, June 12 – Day 3

Pittsburgh will also hold its rookie minicamp in one of the two weekends following the NFL Draft, too, although which one hasn’t been announced just yet.

There won’t be much in the form of takeaways or breaking news barring a one-off injury, but offseason activities are a nice reminder that regular season football is never too far away, giving social media a taste of what’s to come in the following autumn. It will be an early look at the newest additions, the eventual quarterback, and the rookies hoping to reinforce a playoff-ready roster.

Further, offseason programs are conducted in three “Phases.” The first of which is for two weeks and revolves around meetings, conditioning, and rehab, helping players ramp up without an increased injury risk. The second phase allows for individual drills and walkthroughs and lasts three weeks. The final phase, for four weeks (with 10 total sessions), is where the typical “OTAs” get their name. You won’t see sacks or tackles, but the kind of seven-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills will hit the timeline, marking another step closer to Week 1.
