Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett calls for change following loss vs. Eagles

Steelers rookie QB Kenny Pickett invoked Albert Einstein following yet another frustrating loss.

"It's insane to keep doing the same things over and over again and expect something different," Pickett told reporters following Sunday's 35-13 debacle against the Eagles. "We've been having these problems all year, so that has to get changed. It has to get fixed."

Einstein, the renowned genius, is believed to have said: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results."

The Steelers could use a few geniuses to fix what ails the offense.

Pittsburgh, the worst scoring offense in the NFL (15 ppg), struggled again to score Sunday. They won't score in Week 9 either. The Steelers are off. Meanwhile, they have many questions, namely:

Will the Steelers fire offensive coordinator Matt Canada? His offense hasn't topped 20 points since an opening win against the Bengals.

Will they trade WR Chase Claypool before Tuesday's trade deadline? He has been part of trade speculation, although the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport appeared to shut that down Sunday.

Those decisions are out of Pickett's hands, but the 24-year-old said the team must do more than just take a mental break.

"I'm gonna be here getting it right," Pickett said. "This bye week is huge for us to figure out what... we've got to do to turn it around."

Pittsburgh hosts the Saints in Week 10.
