Steelers Target Aaron Rodgers Decision Stalled By Kentucky Derby

Since the first day in free agency, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers. But after touring the facilities many times and frequently talking with the organization, Rodgers has still not made up his mind on where he will sign next - if anywhere - in free agency.

Teams across the NFL will begin their offseason programs shortly ... but that does not seem to affect Rodgers' urgency.

That is apparent as the 41-year-old gunslinger was spotted at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

On the Pat McAfee Show earlier this offseason, Rodgers admitted he is focusing more on things other than football during this decision process.

"I'm open to anything and attached to nothing. Retirement could still be a possibility, but right now my focus has been -- and will continue to be -- on my personal life. And that's what I've told the coaches. There's still conversations that are being had. It's all been very honest lines of communication," Rodgers said while on the April 17 Pat McAfee Show.

Sooner rather than later, the Steelers may grow restless in this waiting game (if they haven't already).

However, some analysts still believe Rodgers will end up in the Steel City for the 2025 season. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler says "all signs are pointing to" the this reality.

This may be due to Pittsburgh avoidance of early-round quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They did add Ohio State QB Will Howard in the sixth round, but he won't likely be capable of starting this soon.

If Rodgers' latest public appearance shows any indication of his progress, the Steelers must continue to wait for a decision.
