A former top-10 NFL Draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers was arrested over the weekend on charges include assault.
Devin Bush, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Michigan, was reportedly arrested in Michigan on a series of charges. Bush, who played for the Steelers from 2019 to 2022 and who now plays for the Cleveland Browns, was reportedly arrested on Sunday.
The former Wolverines star, who is the son of an NFL standout, was arrested for a simple assault charge that is a misdemeanor. However, his harassment charge is a summary offense.
KDKA in Pittsburgh was the first to have reported the news on Sunday evening.
Bush, 26, was a college All-American and then an All-Rookie Team member in his first season in Pittsburgh. He was a full-time starter here despite his 5-11, 235-pound frame ... smallish for a linebacker.
Bush fell short of stardom, though, during his time here, and the Steelers declined the fifth-year option on Bush's contract in May of 2022, making him eligible to be a free agent after that season.
He spent the 2023 season with the Seattle Seahawks (where he was largely a backup) and a year ago signed with the Steelers rivals the Cleveland Browns.
Bush finished the 2024 regular season with 76 tackles, one sack and three passes defended in 16 games ... and was a starter in 10 of those games.
Bush in March of this year re-signed with the Browns on a one-year, $3.25 million contract.
