Steelers UDFA raises his stakes by sharing unforgettable quote from his past

Bishop stood out during his tenure with the West Virginia Mountaineers and boasts the best chances of any rookie UDFA to make the 53-man roster in my opinion. And while his greatest strength wasn't able to be displayed over the weekend, it will be soon enough:

"I can tackle well. I finished the season with 60 tackles (67). Not a lot of DBs like to tackle. And I love to tackle. I’m a physical DB, can play inside and outside,” Bishop told reporters over the weekend.

That's vital for the position that Bishop is looking to play, which is slot CB. One of the reasons Mike Hilton was so successful in Pittsburgh was his fearlessness as a tackler. 

With the Steelers signing Anthony Averett over the weekend after his successful tryout at the minicamp, Bishop won't be short on competition for the vital role of nickel defender or slot corner. 

But such is life in the NFL, and if we learned anything about Bishop over the weekend, it's that he won't be running from anything, rather he'll be going headfirst into all of it.
