Steelers WR Chase Claypool set for MRI on toe

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool wasn't on the field for his team's final drive of their controversial "Monday Night Football" win over the Chicago Bears in Week 9. He was seen hobbling off the field late in the action and now it's known why.

Claypool finished the game with just three receptions for 30 yards, while adding two carries for 12 yards.

The second-year wideout was selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft and had a big rookie season, recording 62 receptions for 873 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as 10 carries for 16 yards and two scores in 16 games. Claypool has regressed in the scoring department thus far in 2021, as he has just one touchdown through seven games played, while making 29 catches for 433 yards.

His two biggest games this year came in Week 3 and Week 5 -- which sandwiched a missed game in Week 4. During a 24-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3, Claypool saw a season-high 15 targets and made a season-best nine catches, which went for 96 yards.

In the team's 27-19 Week 5 win over the Denver Broncos, Claypool caught five of his six targets for a season-high 130 yards and one touchdown.
