The 2025 NFL Draft has officially ended, and the Pittsburgh Steelers have infused their roster with fresh, young talent. The draft is always an exciting milestone for players, offering them the opportunity to turn their lifelong dreams into reality. For many, hearing their name called is the most memorable and meaningful moment of their lives so far, one they will cherish forever.

This sentiment was echoed when Steelers center Zach Frazier appeared on The Christian Kuntz Podcast, where they were live during the 2025 Steelers Draft Party. When asked to reflect on his experience and how it felt to be drafted, Frazier shared his thoughts on the unforgettable moment.

"Once I got past a certain pick, I was just hoping I'd went all the way to Pittsburgh... going into the draft, this is where I wanted to go," Frazier shared.

Frazier was selected by the Steelers with the 51st overall pick in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. A standout offensive lineman from West Virginia University, Frazier brought strong collegiate experience to the team. In his rookie season, he appeared in 15 games for the Steelers, gaining valuable on-field experience and proving to be a reliable presence on the offensive line.

During the podcast, Frazier revealed that he had met with only two teams throughout the pre-draft process: the Chicago Bears and the Steelers. While both teams showed interest, it quickly became clear that Frazier had a strong connection with the Steelers organization. His enthusiasm about being drafted by Pittsburgh was evident as he spoke about the team’s legacy, passionate fan base, and the opportunity to play in a system that values physical, tough offensive line play. Frazier’s excitement to join the Steelers is not only promising for his development, but also energizing for fans who are eager to see what he brings to the team’s future.

Frazier earned a reputation for his toughness, consistency, and leadership on the field. Known for his strong fundamentals and high football IQ, he transitioned to the professional level very well, and quick. His passion for the game and his enthusiasm about joining a storied franchise like Pittsburgh have made him a fan favorite early in his career. As he continues to grow and develop, he is expected to be a key piece of the Steelers’ offensive line for years to come.

People can't help but understand Frazier's comments as the Steelers have one of the most passionate and loyal fan bases in all of professional sports. The organization has built a rich culture grounded in tradition, toughness, and a commitment to excellence, shaped by decades of success. The Steelers' culture emphasizes hard-nosed football, team-first mentality, and strong community values, qualities that resonate deeply with their fans.

The Steelers Have A Legacy At Center Position

Historically known for producing top, iconic, linemen, the Steelers have worked to rebuild and strengthen the line in recent years through a mix of draft picks and veteran leadership. Young talent like Frazier adds energy and potential to the group, while experienced players provide mentorship and knowledge. The offensive line plays a critical role in any NFL team’s success, with the goal of protecting the quarterback and creating running lanes. Historically, the Steelers have been a run-heavy team, which adds importance to the line. As the Steelers continue to evolve offensively, the line remains a central focus, with coaches emphasizing toughness, communication, and cohesion to ensure they can control the line of scrimmage.

Frazier referenced several legendary Steelers centers during his interview, including Maurkice Pouncey, who was center for 11 seasons before retiring in 2021. He also mentioned Dermontti Dawson, a 13-year Steelers veteran drafted in 1988 and inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2012. Additionally, Frazier acknowledged Mike Webster, who played over 200 games during his career—more than any player at the time of his retirement, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997.

Frazier is helping carry on a legacy that has defined the Steelers in the past and could continue in the future. The Steelers’ franchise and fan base are truly unlike any other, and it’s always exciting to see young players enthusiastic about becoming part of that tradition.
