Stefon Diggs is yet another player who might have had an unbelievable 2024-2025 season if not for injury. The Maryland alumnus could only play eight games before suffering a torn ACL that kept him on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Since he only had eight games as a Texan, it’s hard to predict what he will do as a Patriot. He is getting up there in age, seeing as this is his tenth season. Given the little gametime he had last season, though, it might be fair to assume he’s going to do great things in New England.

Stefon Diggs 2024 Stats and Fantasy Production

Outside of two blunders, Stefon Diggs had a pretty decent year, fantasy-wise. He only hit over 20 points once, but he had several games with 18 points or more. The big game for him was his debut against Indianapolis, where Diggs caught two touchdowns.

As time went on, he didn’t see as many red zone targets as he did that day. He also had to adjust to being second fiddle to Nico Collins, who was clearly C.J. Stroud’s number one target. On the field, he looked great, though, and it didn’t seem like he lost a step from his days in Buffalo.

Stefon Diggs may not be a top WR1 prospect this year, but he is actually in a much better position than he was with the Texans. Take a look at what he has to work with in New England.

First of all, there won’t be any competition for targets; Diggs will be far and away the number one option. Drake Maye is certainly a quarterback capable of getting Diggs the ball. On top of all that, the Patriots’ offensive line was recently bolstered when they drafted Will Campbell with their first-round pick.

With all of those ingredients, Diggs should be close to the league leader in targets, which should translate into yards and hopefully touchdowns. Playing Diggs will be very matchup dependent, though. If the Patriots go up against a defense with a shutdown corner or with other means to keep the ball away from Diggs, then his production will hurt.

That’s why he isn’t up there ranked with the likes of Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson. The best time to take Diggs would likely be the third or fourth round as an WR2. Any player who takes Diggs as a WR2 should consider getting a third receiver shortly thereafter, though. It’s better to draft a receiver to plug in if Diggs is in a bad matchup rather than trying to stream one.
