After only one season with the New England Patriots , the AFC East team released star wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The partnership worked well for both parties, as they went to Super Bowl 60. However, the Patriots didn’t have an answer against the Seattle Seahawks defense.
The Patriots tried various options to keep Diggs on the roster, including a last-ditch contract restructuring, but the player rejected it. He spent only one of his three years under his $69 million deal with the Pats, recording 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns.
With Diggs available in free agency, several teams could make a move for him. However, only a handful could be attractive to the receiver.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report wrote on Saturday that Diggs, one of the top remaining free agents available on the market, was a strong fit for the Baltimore Ravens.
“Diggs would be a perfect addition for the Baltimore Ravens, who tried to roll with veteran DeAndre Hopkins last year but got underwhelming results (330 yards, 2 TDs). Diggs would be a great go-to target for Lamar Jackson and a strong complement to Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman,” Knox wrote.
After missing out on A.J. Brown, the Ravens could pivot to another proven veteran. Diggs could be a terrific addition to the Ravens’ WR room to help Zay Flowers. After losing Isaiah Likely in free agency, they should add another weapon for Lamar Jackson.
