After a torn ACL limited him to just eight games with the Houston Texans in 2024, wide receiver Stefon Diggs bounced back in a big way. Before the 2025 season, he joined the New England Patriots on a three-year, $63.5 million deal.

He formed an immediate connection with quarterback Drake Maye, serving as his No. 1 target. Diggs led in targets (102), receptions (85) and yards (1,013), while having the third-most touchdowns (four).

However, after a playoff run that ended in a Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks, New England is set to cut the wide receiver. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Wednesday that the Patriots will be releasing Diggs after the start of the new league year.

Coming off a seventh career 1,000-yard season and at 32 years old, he becomes one of the top options for any team seeking a new receiving threat. Yahoo Sports' Matt Harmon predicts Diggs will sign with the Los Angeles Rams.

"The Rams were reportedly sniffing around the A.J. Brown trade discussions, so it’s clear they want to add to their pass-catching corps beyond Puka Nacua and Davante Adams...Diggs could be a fallback plan and is a smart player who can pick up this offense quickly," Harmon wrote.

Los Angeles' duo of Nacua and Adams was already one of the NFL's most dangerous pairings last season. The two combined for 189 receptions, 2,504 yards and 24 touchdowns. While Nacua had a bulk of the receptions and yards, Adams' 14 touchdowns led the league.

However, that still wasn't enough to help the Rams hoist a Lombardi Trophy, losing to the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game. Adding in Diggs would give Matthew Stafford, the 2025 MVP, yet another weapon to target.

With $29.2 million in cap space, the Rams could also afford whatever his asking price is. Spotrac projects Diggs' market value, earning him a two-year, $27.6 million contract.
