Right now, I feel as if Stefon Diggs is one of the more underrated players in fantasy football. After signing with the Washington Commanders in the offseason, Diggs filled an immediate need for Washington and became an impact player early on.
This season, Diggs is averaging 13.2 PPG, but after a disappointing Week 3, Week 4, and an injury, he’s been off the radar for most. That said, we shouldn’t forget that Diggs scored 15.5 points in Week 1, 21.7 in Week 2, and has drawn at least six targets in every game this season.
Starting with the injury update on Diggs, as of Friday night, we have this report from Melissa Y. Kim on X:
“Commanders WR Stefon Diggs has returned to practice.
He’s been dealing with a hamstring injury, but HC Dan Quinn said yesterday he was hopeful he’d be back this week.”
With the Commanders taking on the San Francisco 49ers for Monday Night Football, this gives Diggs more time to recover, but it also leaves you with a risky lineup choice.
In the event that Diggs does play, the 49ers have been a poor matchup to wide receivers this year, ranking 26th in PPG allowed with 22.6. Since Kalshi gives Washington just a 23% chance to win, this should actually be a favorable script for Diggs, giving him some potential garbage time opportunity.
All things considered, though, with the matchup not being a very good one and the health concern around Stefon Diggs, it makes sense to leave him on your bench for now.
