Still unproven Cowboys player sends simple but telling message that says he's aiming to disrupt the WR room in training camp

One of the most exciting roster battles of Dallas Cowboys training camp will take place in one of the most exciting positions in football: Wide receiver

That's because even though wide receiver was a major need for the team during free agency and the NFL Draft, the depth has always been a strength of the group. Adding George Pickens solved the starting lineup problem that existed but other than that, this is a solid group.

From WR3 to the final spot on the roster, his will be a fun battle spiced up by players with starting experience like Jalen Tolbert , Jonathan Mingo, and Parris Campbell, to younger unproven guys like Jalen Cropper, Jalen Brooks, Ryan Flournoy, and others.

The latter, Flournoy, is apparently setting a bigger goal for himself than simply earning a spot on the roster. Early on Thursday morning, the second-year wide receiver sent a simple yet telling message on social media by posting two words: "All pro."

Now granted, Flournoy needs to secure a spot on the roster before dreaming of that national recognition. He knows it's a process. But the potential is there for the 2024 sixth-round draft pick. As a rookie he logged 10 catches for 102 yards in limited playing time. At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Flournoy provides a good combination of size and speed.

Sure, he's a developmental player, but he has the tools to become a serious contributor on offense. He's also shown flashes of being a willing blocker in the run game, which Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer and offensive coordinator Klayton Adams are likely to love.

Flournoy appears to be aiming to completely disrupt the WR room as he isn't projected to be a starter. With a strong camp, though, he could make the most of a new coaching staff being in town. It's a clean slate and no one has secured the WR3 job.

To make the team, Flournoy will also have to impress special teams coordinator Nick Sorensen.

The young receiver was among the multiple Cowboys players working out with Dak Prescott in late June following mandatory minicamp. Hopefully, the hard work pays off for him.
