The Jaguars moneyline was a relatively easy win last night, so let's carry our momentum over into the NFL Christmas weekend. Most of the games are Saturday, so be sure to get going on finding your favorite bets. Here are three of ours. Enjoy the holidays!
We get that the Lions are on the road here, but why is this spread barely a field goal? Detroit is one of the hottest teams in the NFL. They've won six of their last seven, and have covered the spread in each game during this stretch. Just like that, Detroit is one of the best teams ATS in the league at 10-4. The Lions can sniff the playoffs and are playing as well as anyone.
Carolina does not have the offensive firepower to keep up with this Detroit offense, we expect a blowout here in Carolina.
Derrick Henry really likes to play the Texans. Henry has 2+ touchdowns and 200+ rushing yards in four straight against Houston. As of this writing, his yardage line is not available, but when it is, consider just parlaying him to get 100+ yards and a TD.
We like the value here on him finding the end zone twice. All of a sudden, Jacksonville is breathing down Tennessee's neck, and with Ryan Tannehill out, the Titans are sure to lean on their workhorse back. Henry has nearly 300 carries already this season and has scored twice in three games so far this year. We're trusting the history against this divisional foe and expecting a big Saturday from the Titans' best hope of making the postseason.
This is the clear game of the week. We know Jalen Hurts is out, but Gardner Minshew is a more than capable backup quarterback who can limit the mistakes and allow the talented players all around him to make plays. Eight players were named to the Pro Bowl from the Philadelphia roster, so it's not like their 13-1 success was all because of Hurts. Two weeks ago, Micah Parsons made headlines when he wondered if Jalen Hurts deserved MVP, or if it was because of the team and system he plays in. How cruel would it be for Parsons' comments to prove correct when Minshew and the Eagles head into Dallas and grab a win?
Philly is the better team on both sides of the ball, and we find this spread to be a gift. We expect the Eagles to win outright tomorrow and clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Zach Wilson benched, again - After some promise to the year, the postseason does not appear to be in the cards for the Jets. New York benched Zach Wilson in favor of former CFL quarterback Chris Streveler last night in the midst of their 19-3 loss to Jacksonville. The Jets moved to 7-8 and are on the outside looking in for the playoffs. The true ramifications are where the franchise goes from here. It seems the Jets and Wilson are inching towards a quick divorce, and New York is likely to be in the market for a new quarterback this offseason.
'Sunday Ticket' has new home: YouTubeTV - If you haven't been able to watch your favorite team without a DirecTV account, rejoice! The NFL has announced a new broadcasting deal with Google's YouTubeTV which will move the 'Sunday Ticket' service over to the platform for next season. There are overwhelming odds we'll be buying this in 2023.
Get ahead on the next batch of College bowl games - We're set for the next wave of college football bowl games to begin, and now is the time to scan the board and find your favorites. We're most intrigued by the Holiday Bowl between Oregon and UNC and the Alamo Bowl between No. 20 Texas and No. 12 Washington. Explore each matchup in detail here before Monday's games kickoff.
