Sunday Night Football: Chiefs-Giants Predictions, Spreads, Prop Bets

Week 3 of Sunday Night Football features the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants desperately battling for their first win of the season. While nobody thought the Giants would be much of anything in 2025, the Chiefs are 0-2 for the first time since Patrick Mahomes took over under center. This team desperately needs to bounce back, but will the Giants pull the upset?

Over-Under: 42.5 points

While the team couldn’t get the win in Week 2, Russell Wilson turned back the clock with a vintage performance against the Dallas Cowboys. Looking like his Seahawks self, the one-time Super Bowl champion completed 30 of his 41 attempts for 450 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. If this version of the quarterback shows up on Sunday Night Football, then the Giants just might beat the Chiefs.

Unfortunately for New York, this was probably just a flash in the pan. Wilson hasn’t been an elite quarterback since the 2020 season, and one great game isn’t enough to wash away the memories of four underwhelming seasons. Chances are, Wilson will look more like he did in Week 1’s loss against the Washington Commanders, and that version of Wilson won’t be enough to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes isn’t playing his best football, and the underwhelming supporting cast certainly isn’t doing anything to help the equation. However, there’s still enough talent on both sides of the ball to take care of business against a New York Giants team that, last week notwithstanding, doesn’t have much going for it. The Chiefs play in one of the most competitive divisions in football, and they can’t afford a third straight loss if they want to win the division.

Best Prop Bets

Wan’Dale Robinson: OVER 45.5 Receiving Yards

Wan’Dale Robinson might not be the most exciting wide receiver in the league, but he gets results. No matter who is under center, the former second-round pick always receives a decent target share, and that shouldn’t change in Week 3. The wideout has recorded at least six receptions and 55 receiving yards in each game with Wilson, and there’s no reason to believe his usage will change on Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Darius Slayton: UNDER 26.5 Receiving Yards

Why is this even a prop bet? Darius Slayton is seeing the field in three-receiver sets, but he’s not doing much of anything with his opportunities. While he finished Week 2 with 61 yards, he only saw three targets. In Week 1, he only saw one. This low volume will make it difficult for him to eclipse the 26.5-yard threshold, as Wilson will target superstar Malik Nabers and Robinson far more frequently.

Patrick Mahomes: OVER 230.5 Passing Yards

Patrick Mahomes isn’t having his best season, but 230 yards is a little disrespectful. While the Philadelphia Eagles kept him in check, the three-time Super Bowl champion should find much more success against an underwhelming New York Giants defense – especially if 2024 first-round pick Xavier Worthy can play.
