Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles takes place Sunday, Feb. 9 at the Superdome in New Orleans.

While the game itself figures to be entertaining, the National Anthem performance from five-time Grammy Award winner Jon Batiste is also generating quite a bit of buzz.

Batiste is a native of the New Orleans, LA, area, and he grew up in Kenner, LA, which is roughly 30 minutes away from New Orleans.

A member of the renowned musical Batiste family, Jon has released six studio albums throughout his career with his debut album "Times in New Orleans" being released when he was just 17 years old.

In 2022, Batiste's album "We Are" won Album of the Year and Best R&B Album at the Grammy Awards.

Batiste is also known for his work on the Pixar animated movie "Soul." Batiste co-composed the score for the film, which earned him an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and another Grammy Award.

Batiste isn't the only performer who will be taking the stage before the Super Bowl kicks off. Fellow Grammy Award-winning New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty will be performing "America the Beautiful" alongside another Grammy winner, Lauren Daigle.

Also performing before the game starts is Grammy winner Ledisi, who will sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing."

Kickoff for Super Bowl LIX is set for Sunday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
