The Philadelphia Eagles had a disastrous 2023 NFL season, but still managed to finish ranked fourth out of all 32 teams in their annual NFLPA player poll.
That, however, wasn't the case following their 2024 season.
Despite ending the year Super Bowl LIX champions, Eagles players have not been too pleased with what is happening behind the scenes.
In the lastest NFLPA report card rankings, the Eagles dropped from fourth to 22nd.
Players have been the most unhappy with treatment of families (C-), the locker room (D+), and team travel (F).
-Treatment of Families (6%): C-, 27th
-Nutritionist/Dietician (6%): B-, 28th
-Food/Dining Area (9%): A-, 7th
-Locker Room (9%): D+, 25th
-Training Room (9%): B-, 19th
-Training Staff (9%): B+, 9th
-Weight Room (9%): B, 21st
-Strength Coaches (9%): B, 28th
-Team Travel (9%): F, 30th
-Head Coach (10%): A-, 18th
-Ownership (15%): B, 16th
Here is the overview of what these grades mean from Philly players, via the NFLPA's official website:
The Eagles finish the year ranked 22nd. There are many seemingly low-cost improvements the team could make that would quickly improve the players’ experience. Players identify three easy fixes: providing childcare on game days (like most NFL teams do), prioritizing first-class seating for players instead of coaches, and staggering lunch times to avoid overcrowding in the cafeteria. Currently, players wait in long lines and are unable to find places to sit and eat because the business staff takes up most of the space.
The other recurring issue is a lack of space, with players noting that nearly every facility category felt too small or lacked enough space.
Despite these concerns, players remain optimistic that things will improve. When asked what the team currently does best, players shared that team leadership listens to their feedback and prioritizes improvements.
It sounds like space is a major issue, which could mean that the NovaCare Complex is overdue for some upgrades.
And when it comes to the team travel category that received the worst grade, players think they should fly first-class over the coaching staff. That makes a lot of sense, especially since these players are much bigger than a majority of the coaches.
The good news is that players believe their current problems with the team can be resolved.
