The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are facing off in the Super Bowl, with the AFC champs chasing a third straight title.
But not everyone is happy about it.
In fact, some are still upset about the Buffalo Bills getting the short end of the stick in the AFC Championship game as several calls "fell" the Chiefs' way.
Now, there are some who think the NFL is "rigged" and wants Kansas City to make history, while others think the Chiefs only made the Super Bowl due to Taylor Swift and the money that can be made from marketing.
And now the Chiefs are speaking out.
From Travis Kelce: “If I could ask the media one question. Uhm, why are you guys leaning into this whole ref thing? You know what I mean. Why are you guys leaning into it?”
From owner Clark Hunt: “You almost have to laugh at it. There’s definitely no conspiracy, right? It’s the nature of the game. And when you start having a lot of success, people like to start making excuses for why you’re having the success.”
From NFL commissioner Roger Goodell: "It's a ridiculous theory.''
As as for Brittany Mahomes, she sent a silent, yet loud message to those who think the Chiefs get the rub of the green more than most. She posted via her story on Instagram of Mitch Holthus who gave an interesting set of stats regarding the Chiefs and Bills.
"We can stay with false narratives or discuss this—Kansas City was 17th in percentage of scoring drives that were aided by a penalty for a first down. On such drives in regular season number one? Wait for it...Buffalo 33% of scoring drives were aided by penalty for a first down on 86 scoring drives."
So there you have it. Brittany - like the rest of Chiefs Kingdom - isn't going to have any of the conspiracy theories that are floating out there.
With the Chiefs one win away from immortality, there is going to be a call one way or the other in the Super that fans are going to say helped either team win the game.
And if it is in the Chiefs' favor, we don't think Travis or Hunt or Brittany will care as they celebrate their third straight championship.
