Super Bowl Contenders Bracing for Snow Game on Sunday

Just last week football fans were treated to an epic show as the Cleveland Browns squared off against the Pittsburgh Steelers amid heavy snowfall.

While the game started with flurries, the conditions turned on a dime late in the third quarter. The Steelers started a drive in near perfect conditions, but by the time kicker Chris Boswell lined up for a field goal there wasn't a clean spot on the field.

Fans are hoping they'll get the chance to see another snow game in the near future - and they might not have to wait too long.

Weather forecasts in the Buffalo area show that snow is expected on Sunday afternoon ahead of the Bills' matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. "Some snow is in the forecast for 49ers-Bills this Sunday in Buffalo," 49ers reporter David Lombardi said.

Fans shouldn't be expecting a scene like they saw earlier this calendar year when the Bills hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers following blizzard-like conditions. Instead, weather forecasts predict just under an inch of snow leading up to kickoff on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Snow is expected in the Buffalo area on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday so fans will get an early look at what playoff football could be like at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills should be refreshed heading into Sunday night's game after coming out of a bye week. Buffalo showed it's a legitimate contender for a Super Bowl title by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs before the break.

San Francisco, meanwhile, has been banged up all season, but still sits just one game out of first place in the NFC West.
