Super Bowl LVII best bets: Don't miss out on this same-game parlay

The wait is almost over... the Super Bowl is Sunday, and with the weekend approaching, it's time to stop focusing on all the available prop bets — coin toss, Gatorade color, Super Bowl MVP, etc. — and get back to our parlays.

But with just the big game remaining, the standard parlay is out the window. But you know what is available? The same-game parlay, aka, an SGP. And in case you're not aware, it's America's new favorite way to bet.

The SGP hasn't been around for all that long, but now that it is, bettors across the country are taking advantage. We thought about combining a bunch of legs to boost up the odds line, but that's just too risky for our taste. Instead, we combined three legs that we're confident in, hoping they'd get us to right around even odds. And that's exactly what happened — even odds exactly (+100).

Our first leg is for both teams to score at least 17 points on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes might not be 100%, but that shouldn't concern you all that much. Mahomes should be much healthier come Sunday than he was two weeks ago against Cincinnati, and KC still managed 23 points in that game.

The Chiefs led the NFL in scoring during the regular season, and that wasn't just a fluke. Andy Reid has pushed all the right buttons on offense this season, and we expect the same on Sunday. Yes, we're aware Philadelphia hasn't allowed more than seven points in a game so far this postseason, but you know what? They haven't seen an offense like the Chiefs. Kansas City has scored at least 17 points in every game this season, and we don't see that trend changing on Sunday, even against a stout Eagles defense.

Meanwhile Philly led the NFC in scoring during the regular season, and has scored at least 31 points in each of its two playoff games. Even if Jalen Hurts' right shoulder isn't 100%, the Eagles are more than capable of putting up 17 points in this one.

Philadelphia has scored at least 17 points in every game but one, and that shouldn't change on Sunday. Both teams' defenses have stolen the spotlight so far this postseason, and even if this game is a little more low scoring than most expect, both teams are good for 17 points.

As for the second leg of our parlay, take both teams to score at least five points in the first half. Both of these offenses are known for fast starts, and that shouldn't change on Sunday. The Eagles led the NFL with 18.2 points per game in the first half, and KC was No. 2 at 15.5.

The Eagles scored 28 points in the first half against the 49ers in the NFC Conference Championship, and the Chiefs scored 13 against the Bengals in the AFC Championship. We don't expect either team to score 20+ points in the first half on Sunday, but you never know. Stopping these offenses won't be easy for either defense, especially early on.

Both teams probably score at least seven points in the first half, which makes the over of 4.5 points in the first half that much more likely to hit. This is the most confident leg of our parlay, so if there's one thing you should take from this article, it's to take both teams to score at least five points in the first half.

And last but certainly not least, ride KC (+9.5) via the alternate spread line. The Chiefs are currently 1.5-point underdogs, and if Mahomes never got hurt against Jacksonville, it'd probably be the other way around. However, you're not going to hear any complaining from us. KC has lost only three games so far this season, and none by more than four points.

Yeah, we know KC got spanked by Tampa Bay two years ago in the Super Bowl, but we just don't see that happening again on Sunday. We'd be surprised if this is more than an eight-point game, which is why (+9.5) is a pretty darn safe bet.

KC's offense might not be as explosive as it has been in the past, but the defense is vastly improved. The Chiefs defense hasn't allowed more than 24 points in a game in over two months, and the offense hasn't scored less than 24 points in a game since October. No matter how this game plays out — high scoring or low scoring — expect a competitive game, which is why the Chiefs to lose by no more than nine points is a solid leg.

The SGP: Both teams (over 16.5 points), Both teams (over 4.5 first-half points) and KC Chiefs (+9.5) (+100 odds via DraftKings)
