Syracuse to Hire Ross Douglas as Wide Receivers Coach

Syracuse football is set to hire Ross Douglas of the New England Patriots as its wide receivers coach, according to multiple reports. He has been the wide receivers coach for the Pats this season after spending the last year as assistant wide receivers coach and 2021 as defensive quality control. 

As a player, Douglas played high school ball in Ohio before playing collegiately with both Michigan and Rutgers.

Under his and Troy Brown's guidance in 2022, WR Jakobi Meyers set new career highs in reception yards (804) and receiving touchdowns (6), tripling his previous season high of two receiving touchdowns.

Following the 2022 season, Douglas served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the West team in the East-West Shrine Bowl assisting the team to a 12-3 victory.

In 2021, he worked in an NFL coaching fellowship role on the defense. This followed a stint with Richmond as a cornerbacks coach. Prior to Richmond, Douglas spent three years at Rutgers from 2018-20.
