Takk McKinley waived after public criticism of Falcons

Takk McKinley has been in and out of the Atlanta Falcons lineup this season due to various injuries. Now he won't play another game for the organization this season.

The Falcons announced Monday that they have waived McKinley following his recent fallout with the team due to his public criticism of the organization on Twitter.

McKinley was frustrated that the Falcons didn't move him at the trade deadline and called out the team for not making a deal for what he says is the second year in a row. The team ended up fining him for his comments.

The 25-year-old was selected by Atlanta with the 26th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. In 49 games with the organization, McKinley recorded 53 solo tackles, 45 quarterback hits and 17.5 sacks.

The Falcons declined his fifth-year option in the offseason.
