When the Green Bay Packers landed star pass rusher Micah Parsons via a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, many believed that Matt LaFleur’s squad got the missing piece it needed to win a Super Bowl. That remains to be seen, but after two games in the 2025 NFL regular season, Green Bay fans could already be smelling the return of the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Titletown.
Parsons was once again a force on defense for Green Bay during its Week 2 27-18 win at Lambeau Field against Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders.
The former Penn State Nittany Lions star was a huge thorn in the side of Washington, who used multiple players to block him. He even attracted a triple team, as Washington tried to lessen his impact on the game. Still, the Packers came away with their second win, with Parsons playing more comfortably with his new team.
The four-time Pro Bowler only had two total tackles and half a sack, but he had three quarterback pressures. Moreover, his eight pressures led all Packers against Washington, which was limited to only 179 passing yards and 51 rushing yards, as Green Bay made life hard for Daniels and the Commanders’ attack.
Parsons celebrated the win over Washington with an Instagram post that he captioned with “God Did!1⃣ #uno #gopackgo #Thehunter
.”
That post attracted lots of people to react to it, including NFL reporter Taylor Rooks.
“my brother..green bay got em one!” wrote Rooks, who added multiple lion emojis.
Green Bay’s defense should only get better as Parsons becomes more acclimated to life with the Packers. He’ already created so much havoc even with limited practice time since being traded by the Cowboys to Green Bay, but there are plenty of reasons to expect him and the Packers’ stop unit to develop into a much more deadlier unit on the field.
