For the second day in a row, the Tennessee Volunteers have landed a commitment for the 2026 class.

On Saturday, Vol Scoops reported on X that three-star athlete Zaydyn Anderson has pledged to the Volunteers.

"The 6'1 170 Greeneville, Tennessee native picks Tennessee over Memphis, ETSU, Middle Tennessee State, and more," wrote the Vol Scoops official account.

Anderson told On3's Austin Price why he chose the Volunteers over those other in-state programs.

“It’s home as I grew up just an hour away,” Anderson said. “I came up here on my OV and it just felt like family.

“It just felt like I needed to come here. Just an hour away and home sweet home. Hometown kid.”

Price wrote the athlete committed to Tennessee last weekend. But he elected to make his decision public on Saturday to help celebrate his grandfather's birthday.

By waiting, not only is Anderson giving his grandfather something else to celebrate, but he essentially gave the Volunteers consecutive days with recruiting victories.

On Friday, Tennessee landed commitments from both three-star edge rusher Kedric Golston II and three-star offensive lineman Edward Baker.

Based on the 247Sports Composite rankings, Anderson is the No. 31 athlete in the 2026 recruiting class. Also in the composite rankings, he is the No. 14 Tennessee prospect and No. 487 overall recruit for 2026.

It sounds like Anderson expects to play cornerback for the Volunteers.

“A lockdown corner,” Anderson said to a question asking what Tennessee is going to get from him. “Speed. I think I can be faster. During track season I had a pulled hamstring, so I think I can be faster.

"Just development in getting me bigger and faster and stronger.”
