According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, veteran safety Quandre Diggs has signed with the Tennessee Titans. Diggs missed parts of the 2024 season due to a Lisfranc injury but was cleared to play earlier in the summer. Now, he makes his way to Nashville to suit up for the Titans.
Diggs has been one of the more consistent defensive backs in the NFL over the years. Tennessee was hoping he could come help them out last season but only wound up playing in (and starting) eight games for them. An impressive 42 tackles were recorded.
“Veteran safety Quandre Diggs, whose 2024 was cut short because of a Lisfranc injury, is fully healthy and cleared to play in 2025, sources say,” Rapoport said on July 22 via X. “He plans to be on the field. Prior to last season, the Pro Bowler played in at least 16 games from 2020-2023.”
This will be season No. 11 for Diggs after originally being a sixth-round pick of the Detroit Lions. The Seattle Seahawks, alongside the Titans, are the only other teams he has played for throughout his career.
As Rapoport mentioned, Diggs continually found himself on the field during a four-year stretch beginning in 2020. Playing and starting all 16 games only expanded when the league went to 17 — Diggs was out there every week for the Seahawks. He was rewarded by being named to three Pro Bowls as well.
Now, the Titans are hoping Diggs can bounce back from his injury in a big way. A Pro Bowl-caliber player would be more than welcome on the roster moving forward. Some talent is needed in Tennessee and Diggs could wind up being a nice presence for them.
Last season did not go as the Titans planned. Anytime you finish with the No. 1 overall pick due to your record, something went wrong. But Tennessee believes they are now on the up, selecting quarterback Cam Ward to become the face of the franchise.
Brian Callahan enters his second year with the franchise after being the Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive coordinator. Working with Ward is a partnership the Titans hope blossoms in the years to come. We will get our first look at it on Sept. 7 as Tennessee heads out West for a showdown against the Denver Broncos. Fans in Nashville will then welcome them home a week later for the home opener vs. the Los Angeles Rams.
