Tennessee Titans Set to Face Hurting Houston Texans Based on Thursday's Injury Report
USA TODAY Sports

The Tennessee Titans have a sliver of hope remaining that they may make a playoff push, but that would be totally extinguished if they lost at home on Sunday to the Houston Texans. If Thursday's injury report is any indication, the Titans be looking to keep those dreams alive against a Texans team that is truly hobbled.

The Titans will certainly take no pity on the Texans after experiencing record-breaking injuries over the last few seasons, but it is hard to ignore the health status in Houston. Quarterback C.J. Stroud didn't practice and is still in concussion protocol with the expectation he will not play.

The Texans could also be without their other top rookie in Will Anderson Jr. who was seen in a boot on Thursday and is reported to have a high-ankle sprain. Along with the two standout rookies, the Texans could be without starting offensive tackle George Fant, and wide receiver Nico Collins. All who didn't practice on Thursday.

The Titans also had a long list of players who did not practice on Thursday including Jeffery Simmons, Kyle Philips, Teair Tart, Josh Whyle and Jack Gibbens. If we don't see them practice on Friday, odds are they will not suit up for the game.

Out of the limited participants on Thursday, the one to watch is Daniel Brunskill. The starting right guard has been struggling with an ankle injury for a few weeks and even was replaced for a time during the Titans win over the Miami Dolphins by Calvin Throckmorton.

Sean Murphy-Bunting is another name to point out as the cornerback appeared to injure his knee in Week 14 and was limited on Wednesday. Seeing Murphy-Bunting upgraded to a full participant is a great sign for his availability for the game.

We typically get some concrete information on the status of most players on Fridays. That will clear up a lot of the lingering uncertain going forward for both sides.
