A Tennessee Vols standout replaces an all-time great in the latest 2026 NFL mock draft from Sports Illustrated

SI.com's Daniel Flick has the Miami Dolphins selecting Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy with the No. 15 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.

McCoy would essentially serve as a longterm replacement for seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey in this scenario.

The Dolphins are looking to trade Ramsey this offseason.

From SI.com: The Dolphins have expressed their intent to trade star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and they waited until the fifth round to add another piece at the position, ultimately drafting Florida’s Jason Marshall Jr. Subsequently, Miami needs a long-term shutdown corner, and McCoy has the tools to be precisely that. He has six interceptions and 16 pass breakups through two collegiate seasons, and the 6' 0", 193-pounder earned All-SEC and All-American honors in 2024.

McCoy, who started his career at Oregon State before transferring to Tennessee ahead of the 2024 season, could be the first cornerback selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.

That's largely dependent, however, on McCoy's recovery from the torn ACL he suffered earlier this offseason.

It's unclear when McCoy will return to action for the Vols, but he's expected to be a contributor for Tennessee at some point in 2025.
