Texans' Anthony Miller on Deshaun Watson: 'The show must go on'

Wide receiver Anthony Miller joined the Houston Texans via a July trade from the Chicago Bears without knowing who will be his starting quarterback come September. Houston star signal-caller Deshaun Watson is reportedly dealing with ankle and calf injuries but, more importantly, could be made unavailable to play for the foreseeable future as he's facing 22 lawsuits alleging acts of sexual assault and misconduct and 10 criminal complaints.

Veteran Tyrod Taylor is taking first-team snaps for the Texans and would start if they played a game today, and Miller explained during an interview on Houston's Sports Radio 610 that he's mostly concentrating on what he can control this summer. Miller said, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:

"I’m just blocking it out. I really can’t focus on who’s the quarterback. Just focus on my job, my assignment when I get out there, because I feel like that would distract me from what I need to do. So, I’m pretty sure they’ll work that out and however it may go, the show must go on. We’ve got to ball out, regardless.

"It’s really not hard (to block out). That’s a grown man. He has his business going on. It definitely affects the team, whether he plays or not. But like I’ve said, we’ve got to succeed, regardless. We’ve got to win, regardless. And we’re going to find a way to do that."

Watson requested a trade from Houston before allegations against him went public, but it seems like only a matter of time before he's placed on the commissioner's exempt list unless all of his reported victims drop their cases soon.
