The Houston Texans joined the NFL in 2002, so it makes sense that they are behind in terms of all-time records among fellow franchises.

They are still building a history in a city that was home to the Oilers franchise for over three decades.

One thing the team has failed to do in two decades is have a lot of postseason success.

They are 4-6 in playoff action and have never advanced beyond the Divisional Round.

Houston has also not achieved one feat that is in the spotlight after the games this past weekend.

The Cincinnati Bengals went on the road and beat the Tennessee Titans in a thrilling finish.

That marked the franchise’s first ever road playoff win since coming into existence back in 1968.

The Texans are now the last NFL franchise without a road win in the postseason.

That is a good goal to target for whoever leads the team on the sidelines in 2022.

Texans Trying To Turn Things Around

The franchise has been to the playoffs six times, most recently in 2019.

But they have a total of eight wins since then and are now starting over once again in 2022.

Getting to the playoffs should always be a goal, but simply finding a stable situation at head coach is a top priority at the moment.

Next up is figuring out who will line up at quarterback, and what kind of return Deshaun Watson can bring to the franchise.

There are more questions than answers and it may take some time before Houston gets back to the postseason.

The only point of optimism is the fact the team won four games with arguably the worst roster in the NFL this season.

A talented quarterback being dropped into the mix could mean an extra four or five wins next season.
