The Houston Texans released All-Pro defensive end J.J. Watt on Friday. Now the focus is turned back to Deshaun Watson.
Texans owner Cal McNair and general manager Nick Caserio have stated in the past that they have no intention of trading Watson. McNair reiterated that on Friday, saying, "we expect him to remain a Texan."
And Cal McNair on Deshaun Watson: “There is a lot of misinformation out there, I’ll leave it at that. Today we want on focus on J.J. Deshaun is our quarterback, he is a Texan, and we expect him to remain a Texan, and we’ll leave that.” https://t.co/m9yz2PjivD

Watson has grown increasingly frustrated with the franchise this offseason after it excluded him from the head coach and general manager search. He's also said to be "furious" at the direction the Texans are headed.
Although the Texans don't want to trade Watson, they might have to if he holds out of practices and games during the 2021 season. The most likely landing spot for the three-time Pro Bowler is the New York Jets.
