With OTAs around the corner, more changes could be coming for NFL teams this offseason. The Houston Texans are no exception.

Bleacher Report's Moe Moton published an article Saturday suggesting one move every team still needs to make during the 2025 offseason. With Houston adding depth to their wide receivers room, Moton recommended the Texans should trade wideout John Metchie III.

"This offseason, the Texans acquired Christian Kirk from the Jaguars and drafted Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel in the second and third rounds, respectively." Moton wrote. "Houston has put the writing on the wall for Metchie's departure and should place him on the trade block."

Moton also pointed out Metchie's age and upside.

"He showed the ability to overcome adversity, recovering from acute promyelocytic leukemia, and is only 24 with major upside. Metchie will have a market if available." he said.

A second-round pick by the Texans in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Alabama star did not play his rookie season following his cancer diagnosis. A year later, Metchie returned to the team and compiled 16 receptions for 158 yards.

In 13 games played last season he registered 24 catches for 254 yards, and scored his first career touchdown on NBC's Sunday Night Football in Week 10, a 26-23 loss to the Detroit Lions.

With OTAs set to begin on Wednesday, May 28, the Texans currently have 13 wide receivers on their roster. In addition to acquiring Kirk and drafting Higgins and Noel, they added Braxton Berrios and three-time Super Bowl Champion Justin Watson via free agency.
