Texans reach settlement with 30 of Deshaun Watson's alleged victims

The Houston Texans reached a settlement with 30 women who alleged the team's former quarterback Deshaun Watson engaged in sexual misconduct, according to attorney Tony Buzbee.

The Texans were accused of helping to facilitate the misconduct. A report from the New York Times said the team provided the venue for several massage appointments in which Watson acted inappropriately, and a team representative drafted a nondisclosure agreement when a woman threatened to expose his behavior.

"Today all of the women who have made, or intended to make, claims against the Houston Texans organization have resolved their claims," Buzbee said in a statement, via League of Justice. "The terms of the settlements, to include the amounts paid each, are confidential. I will have no further comments on the allegations or the Texans' alleged role, other than to say that there is a marked contrast in the way in which the Texans addressed these allegations, and the way in which Watson's team has done so.

"As has been previously reported, only one of the 30 women who made allegations against the Texans filed a formal lawsuit. That particular lawsuit will be dismissed with prejudice as soon as the appropriate settlement paperwork is complete."

Watson, 26, was traded from the Texans to the Cleveland Browns in March and signed a five-year, $230 million contract with the team. The quarterback has settled 20 of 24 lawsuits filed against him and is expected to receive a punishment from the NFL soon.
