The Texas Longhorns had 12 players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft and are now pursuing the brother of a professional player.
On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Thursday that Texas was a finalist for 2026 cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick. The Georgia Bulldogs, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes and Miami Hurricanes were also finalists.
Justice is the brother of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Minkah has played for the Steelers since 2019 and played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Justice is listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds and attends St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Texas currently has one other cornerback commit from the 2026 class in four-star prospect Hayward Howard Jr.
Fitzpatrick is a four-star prospect and the No. 7 corner in the On3 Industry Rankings.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine thinks Miami has the best odds at earning a commitment from Fitzpatrick, giving the Hurricanes an 85.4% chance to land him. They are followed by Florida (4.5%), Georgia (3.9%), Texas (2.4%) and Ohio State (<1%).
The Longhorns have a chance to persuade Fitzpatrick this summer. Texas is having him for an official visit on June 13.
Texas fans got a glimpse of what head coach Steve Sarkisian's likeness will be in the upcoming EA Sports College Football 26 game. The trailer was released on Thursday, and Sarkisian was featured.
Sarkisian also made the rounds in shutting down a rumor regarding his roster. A report surfaced in the offseason claiming Texas was willing to spend $30-40 million on its roster, and Sarkisian silenced it on a recent interview with SiriusXM.
Texas opens the 2025 season with Ohio State on August 30.
