The Texas Longhorns set a record with 12 draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, compared to last year's 11.

Texas was predicted to land the son of a former Super Bowl champion tight end on Sunday. On3's Joseph Cook logged a prediction for Texas to land 2026 wide receiver Kaydon Finley, the son of NFL tight end Jermichael Finley.

His father played for Texas from 2006-07 and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 2008 NFL Draft. His dad spent his entire NFL career with the Packers from 2008-2013.

Jermichael was part of the Packers' 2010 Super Bowl-winning team, which beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25.

Jermichael's son, Kaydon, is a four-star prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 18 wide receiver in the On3 Industry Rankings

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine does not agree with Cook and has the Notre Dame Fighting Irish as the frontrunner, giving them a 69% chance of landing Finley. Texas is in second at 25.4%, followed by the Texas A&M Aggies (1.4%) and Arizona State Sun Devils (1.1%).

Notre Dame (4) and Texas (3) have the most visits with Finley thus far. The Longhorns have an official visit lined up with him for June 20.

One of Texas' top commits has been receiving attention lately. Five-star quarterback Dia Bell made the roster for the Elite 11 Finals. Bell is the No. 10 overall prospect and No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 class.

The Longhorns have never been afraid to pursue top talent when it comes to recruiting. Texas is hosting offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh for a visit from June 20-22.

Texas opens the 2025 season with the Ohio State Buckeyes on August 30.
