ESPN's "College GameDay" was in Lubbock, Texas, for Week 11, as No. 7 BYU faced No. 8 Texas Tech in a Big 12 Conference game.

Former Texas Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes was the celebrity guest picker, and it was a packed house in Lubbock in a battle of top-10 teams.

In the end, Texas Tech won easily, 29-7, handing BYU its first loss of the season.

Texas Tech scored the first 26 points of the game and took a 13-0 lead into halftime, and BYU's only score came with just under eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

This was the third straight win for Texas Tech after an upset loss to Arizona State on the road, and the Red Raiders have now taken over first place in the Big 12.

After the game, Texas Tech fans stormed the field with excitement through the roof from the statement victory.

However, the field storm could likely result in a reprimand from the Big 12 Conference.

In October, the Big 12 fined Arizona State $50,000 for storming the field after a win over Texas Tech.

At the time, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark released a statement on the incident and future incidents.

"The Big 12 prioritizes the safety of all players, coaches and officials," Yormark said, via Kyle Bonagura of ESPN. "The Conference will continue to work with all of its institutions on event management policies at all Big 12 venues."

With Yormark's comments and the Big 12's fine for Arizona State recently, it seems likely that Texas Tech will also be handing down a similar punishment for the incident.

Texas Tech was recently banned from throwing tortillas on the field, which had become a tradition for the program.

The program was fined $25,000 for the incident and even threatened with $100,000 in fines if it continued, so Texas Tech has been on the Big 12's radar for some time.

Nonetheless, it's a statement win for Texas Tech, which finishes the regular season with games against UCF and West Virginia.
