Former Tennessee Vols running back Dylan Sampson, a fourth round selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft, returned to Knoxville this week to host a youth football camp.

According to WBIR, over 400 kids attended the camp.

Sampson, who is from Louisiana, spoke to WBIR at the camp and he pointed out that it was good to be "home".

"That term VFL just means something," added Sampson. "Especially nowadays, you know, there's a lot more transferring and stuff going on. I don't think people will have true homes in college, but I have a true home.

"I have a true community that cares for me and I know I'll be taken care of in Knoxville. And I want to give that same love and energy back. But this is home. It became home for me over the years."

Sampson nailed it when he said that there will be fewer players with "true homes" in college football in the future due to the transfer portal.

College football continues to be one of the most compelling sports in the world, but the landscape of the sport looks much different than it did even a decade ago.
