When the Philadelphia Eagles take the field on Thursday for Week 1 of the NFL regular season against the Dallas Cowboys, they’ll do so with the No. 1-rated player in the entire league. The NFL’s Top-100 rankings (as voted on by players) are now completely revealed, and star running back Saquon Barkley ended up ahead of players like Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
Despite the viral moment of owner Jon Mara telling GM Joe Schoen he’d “have a tough time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia,” that exact thing happened on March 11, when Barkley signed a two-year, $41.2 million contract. Mara’s fears turned out to be well-founded, as Barkley became the eighth player in NFL history to eclipse 2,000 rushing yards in the regular season and setting an all-time record for rushing yards in a season between the regular season and playoffs (2,504).
Which brings us to today’s quiz. By the end of Super Bowl LIX, Barkley racked up the most total yards from scrimmage in a year (including the postseason) with 2,857 en route to lifting the Lombardi Trophy. With that being said, can you name every player to reach the 2,000-rushing yard milestone between the regular and postseason in five minutes?
Good luck!
